Simulator Base Unit (6-DOF)

THE SIMULATED CONSTRUCTION CAB: CYBERQUIP construction simulator cabs are highly realistic replicas of the actual construction equipment, where instruments and controls look, feel and operate as they do in the actual vehicle. Cabs are easily swapped out by the Instructor and immediately recognised by the CYBERQUIP construction software which automatically initiates the correct construction equipment simulation.
HUGE PANORAMIC PROJECTED DISPLAY: Three, or optionally four, high-contrast, projected displays provide 270° or 360° (panoramic) horizontal and 70° vertical fields of view which, coupled with the latest generation high definition 3D graphics, immerse the student driver in a high fidelity 3D virtual environment.

3D SURROUND SOUND AUDIO: CYBERQUIP construction simulators provide high fidelity 3D directional audio cues to realistically simulate the sounds emanating from the various sub-systems and external sources such as simulated construction equipment operating in the vicinity.

CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT: The complete CYBERQUIP construction simulation system is housed in a 6m ISO high-cube container which is insulated, air-conditioned, heated and protected against dust ingress. The interior is well appointed and has integrated power distribution and variable lighting to provide a comfortable and controlled learning environment. Maintaining structural integrity of the container during manufacture ensures that all CYBERQUIP construction simulators are easily transported by rail, sea or road.

ACCURATE REALITY MODELS: The CYBERQUIP construction simulation software accurately models the behavioural characteristics of the systems and subsystems of the equipment being simulated, such as engines, braking systems, suspensions and hydraulics sub-systems. External interactions with the simulated environment, such as bucket - soil interactions and tyre - terrain interactions are all mathematically modelled to provide accurate feedback to the operator. CYBERQUIP simulation software also simulates various faults and failures and their effects on relevant sub-systems to permit realistic operator training under these fault conditions and in emergency situations.

COMPUTING SEGMENT: At the heart of the CYBERQUIP construction simulator is a state of the art computer segment which utilises high-end, off-the-shelf PCs to deliver substantial computing power to each of the construction simulation sub-systems. The entire construction simulator, including the computer rack, is powered by an intelligent Power Distribution Unit. The computer rack also houses an Uninterruptable Power Supply to safeguard the computer segment. The complete 19” rack with all of its components is shock mounted to protect against vibration and impact forces during transport.

COMMERCIAL COMPONENTS: CYBERQUIP construction simulators make extensive use of commercial off-the-shelf components, facilitating maintainability, reducing life-cycle costs and extending the equipment life-span.

INSTRUCTOR OPERATOR STATION: CYBERQUIP construction simulators offer a feature rich Instructor Operator Station which provides the Instructor with the ability to:

• Set up and modify a set of standard exercises.
• Select exercise start position and initial equipment parameters.
• Choose artificially intelligent objects such as other construction
equipment and people to operate within the simulated
  construction world.
• Vary world specific parameters and interactive events such as
rock spillages, rock hardness and crusher states.
• Inject faults such as tyre failure, fissures in the rock face,
brake systems failure or engine faults, either randomly or on
command, and then monitor student responses.
• View a display showing the current state of all instruments and
  controls during execution.
• Watch historical and real-time graphs of important sub-system
  quantities.
• View an event log of students’ operating procedure violations as
  they occur.
• Replay exercises for After-Action Review and student de-briefing.
• View, print and export current and historical student reports.

INSTRUCTOR ENTRANCE: The instructor enters though a separate door which is locked from the outside to secure the CYBERQUIP construction simulator and all of its contents.

ELECTRONIC FEEDBACK SYSTEMS: CYBERQUIP simulators impart accurate self motion perception cues. Both 3 and 6 Degree of Freedom motion platforms are available, based on clean electric actuator technologies, to provide realistic simulation of effects such as rotation, acceleration, braking, suspension characteristics and collisions. Where fitted, electronic steering feedback systems complement the realism of the driving experience, providing return-to-centre feedback and the sensation of tyre rotation and interaction with the terrain.

AUDIENCE VIEW: The audience viewing area facilitates optimal use of the CYBERQUIP construction simulator, allowing additional trainees to observe and interact with the instructor while the student operator undergoes training and evaluation.

QUALITY AND MAINTAINABILITY: Designed and manufactured under a rigorous ISO 9001:2008 Quality System, all CYBERQUIP construction simulators are constructed with quality and maintainability in mind to maximise equipment availability and minimise through life support costs.
