For the past twenty years, articulated dump trucks (ADTs) have been used to profitably carry heavy loads fast over rough terrain. It is a known fact that poor driver skills and habits can significantly erode any improvements in safety and productivity realised by the deployment of ADTs in a mining or construction environment.
The CyberMINE™ ADT simulator provides for one or many different simulated truck types operating in surface or underground mining and construction environments. This also allows for the integration of different models, as the need arises.
The CyberMINE™ ADT simulators are designed to provide an excellent training and refresher system for ADT drivers without removing productive vehicles from the operations cycle. Without doubt, skilled ADT operators increase productivity, lower operating costs and reduce safety violations.
The CyberMINE™ ADT simulator is constructed to accurately replicate the interior of a typical vehicle. The driver sits at all times in a conventional driver's seat with the various instruments and controls (e.g. steering and braking systems, lights, indicators and pedal controls) positioned at ergonomically correct locations. The simulator may be configured for various training options, including different vehicle types, loads, weather conditions, night driving, vehicle failures and advanced situations.
The system is delivered standard with a highly realistic world in which the simulated vehicle operates. All simulated dynamics are based on mathematical models that use manufacturer supplied vehicle information to provide accurate behavioural realism.
As the driver executes his exercises, all aspects of operation are continuously monitored by the simulation computer, including adherence to safety procedures, response to emergency situations and failures, driving techniques and economic performance in terms of fuel use, tyre and brake wear, engine wear and other such vehicle related costs.
