  The primary goal of mine management is to achieve consistently safe and efficient mining operations in a continually changing and complex environment. Efficient excavation activities can contribute significantly to overall mine productivity. With this in mind, the CYBERMINE range of shovel and excavator simulators apply state-of-the-art technologies to instil safety of operation and attain consistently high levels of efficiency in operators of this type of equipment.
CYBERMINE shovel and excavator simulators are configurable to support various operator training requirements. They are designed to train, re-train and evaluate correct digging and loading techniques and propulsion methods.
CYBERMINE shovel and excavator simulators are delivered with a highly realistic, 3D operating mine world, complete with automated trucks, dozers and other such equipment in support of the shovel or excavator training and evaluation process.
All simulated equipment behavioural dynamics are based on detailed mathematical models that use equipment manufacturer specifications to provide accurate behavioural realism. ThoroughTec’s advanced soil interaction models allow the instructor to specify its properties, requiring the operator to exercise correct digging techniques for the local terrain type in order to obtain efficient bucket fill factors.
Exercises may be configured to address various training requirements, including operations with different soil types, weather conditions, automatic haul truck behaviour patterns, loading techniques, night operations, sub-system failures and advanced emergency situations.
The operator’s dig, swing, dump and return phases are continually monitored and recorded for each pass, together with adherence to safety procedures, correct equipment handling techniques and response to emergency situations and failures. These performance reports together with the instructor’s after-action review capability provide a complete training and evaluation system.
