CYBERMINE E-LEARNING
Heavy equipment machine theory, operational procedures and introductory content at the mine operator’s fingertips.
ENRICHED E-LEARNING
Using rich media such as computer animations, images, video, audio and interactive prompts, the CYBERMINE E-learning system engages your mining operators and guides them through modules on basic induction and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) through to more complex vehicle operating procedures.
E-learning modules include tuition in:
- Personal Protection Equipment
- Mine safety and rules
- Walk around inspection
- Vehicle orientation
- Basic vehicle operating procedures
- Advanced vehicle operating procedures
- Emergency situations and procedures
THE INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCE
ThoroughTec’s CYBERMINE E-learning systems engage heavy equipment operators every step of the way and draw them into the learning experience. By integrating video, images, 3D renders, prompts and quizzes, the mine operators remain fully engaged throughout the learning process. The trainee mine operator can also proceed through the course at his/her own pace and revisit modules for further training.
Benefits of E-learning
Environmentally Friendly
An e-learning system is an effective way for organisations to reduce their carbon footprint. Assessments, training material and employee records are moved online which reduces paper consumption.
Consistency
E-learning is objective and allows for greater consistency and uniformity in the information provided and tested. It also eliminates problems associated with different mining instructors teaching slightly different material on the same subject.
Scalable
E-Learning enables a mine site to quickly create and communicate new policies and procedures and is designed to cover various mining topics from standard OEM procedures to customised mine site specific procedures.
Increased Learning Rate
Heavy equipment operators learn at their own pace and not the pace of the slowest member of the group.
Increased Learning Retention
E-Learning has the potential to increase information retention rates by up to 60%*. The ability to replay or revisit sections and use of audio, video, quizzes and interaction increases retention. Recall is critical to retaining information.

Cost Savings
E-learning saves on printing costs and lowers the requirement for instructors and classroom training.
Empowering Learners
Mining trainees are encouraged to manage their own training and can access content material offsite. Introducing a rewards system also encourages trainee operators to want to learn and promote a mine safety culture.
Deliver Engaging Content
Mine operator trainees are exposed to a richer training experience through the integration of videos, images, illustrations, prompts and quizzes in the mine training content.
ENHANCE WITH A COMPLETE WORKFORCE OPTIMISATION SOLUTION
The CYBERMINE E-learning system forms an integral part of the CYBERMINE heavy equipment workforce optimisation solution, which also includes the CYBERMINE Operator Familiarisation Trainer (OFT) and the high fidelity CYBERMINE Full Mission Simulator (FMS).
Integrating these CYBERMINE mine training technologies into a truly blended learning and continuous improvement system is the CYBERMINE Learning Management System or LMS. The LMS serves to intelligently link all CYBERMINE workforce development products together and provide a universal, network-based system interface for mine users. The LMS gives mine instructors the ability to intuitively design, control and monitor the workforce learning process for each individual mine operator passing through the CYBERMINE workforce optimisation system. At the same time it provides mine managers and other senior workforce performance stakeholders with an insight into the human-performance trends affecting mine productivity targets and safety issues.
