Underground Loader Simulators • LHD Simulators
Safe and proficient operation of a load-haul-dumper in the complex underground mine environment requires skills honed through CYBERMINE high fidelity simulator training.
The primary goal of mine management is to achieve consistently safe and efficient mining operations in a continually changing and complex environment. The CYBERMINE range of underground loader simulators are high fidelity simulation systems for the training, re-training and evaluation of operators of various load-haul-dumper vehicles deployed in underground mining operations.
These state-of-the-art LHD simulator systems combine the latest technologies to provide safe and effective training in mucking, hauling and dumping skills, from basic techniques to coping with underground emergency situations.
The CYBERMINE Underground Loader Simulator range simulates heavy equipment from all major manufacturers such as Atlas Copco, Caterpillar (CAT), Joy, MTI and Sandvik.
“When manoeuvring an expensive LHD in the confines of an underground mine, you’ll be glad your operator has had the best simulator training available.”
Accurate Vehicle Replication
The operator of a CYBERMINE underground loader simulator, alternatively known as an LHD simulator, bogger simulator or scooptram simulator, is immersed in a highly realistic, operating, 3D simulated underground mine world, projected on three wide screen displays located about the loader operator’s cab. The entire loader cab is replicated to provide all instruments and controls correctly located about the trainee scooptram operator.
Virtual Mine Worlds
The 3D underground mine simulation world comes complete with tunnels, loading points, chutes and dumping areas. Artificially intelligent ADTs, LHDs, drill rigs, miners and other such entities exist in the world in support of the underground loader operator training and evaluation process.
All simulated LHD behavioural dynamics are based on detailed mathematical models that use equipment manufacturer specifications to provide accurate behavioural realism. CYBERMINE advanced soil and rock interaction models require the LHD operator to exercise correct mucking techniques for the terrain type and slope in order to obtain efficient bucket fill factors.
Actual client underground 3D mine sites are accurately modelled on request, including own operating procedures, artificially intelligent client mining equipment, load and haul routes and other areas required to impart training objectives
Training and evaluation tools
CYBERMINE Underground Loader Simulator exercises may be configured to address various training requirements expected in underground mines, including operations in areas of differing slopes, dealing with other simulated mining equipment and personnel in the tunnels, sub-system failures and advanced emergency situations.
The CYBERMINE Underground Loader Simulator System continually monitors and records the loader operator’s performance, in terms of cycle times, processed tonnage, adherence to safety procedures, correct equipment handling techniques and response to emergency situations and failures. These performance reports together with the instructor’s after-action review capability provide a complete LHD operator training and evaluation system.
Highly efficient and effective training is therefore realised on the CYBERMINE LHD simulator with no loss of production and no danger of accidents, even in the most complex of emergency situations to which the loader simulator operator might be expected to respond.
