Roof Bolter Simulators
CYBERMINE Roof Bolter Simulators employ advanced simulator technology to train bolter operators in a virtual 3D world where their mistakes don’t endanger lives or affect productivity.
Safety is of paramount importance in mining operations and none more so than the safety of the underground tunnel environment. Mistakes made in the bolting operation are costly, not only in revenue terms, but may endanger many lives unnecessarily. Effective roof bolter operator training is therefore crucial for both optimising the safety of the operating environment and minimising operating costs.
The CYBERMINE Roof Bolter Simulator range has been developed in collaboration with original equipment manufacturers to provide for the training, re-training and evaluation of bolter operators in an underground mining environment.
The CYBERMINE Roof Bolter Simulator range simulates heavy equipment from all major manufacturers such as Atlas Copco, Fletcher, Joy, Maclean and Sandvik.
“When real world training is both dangerous and expensive, simulation is the only viable alternative.”
Accurate Vehicle Replication
The CYBERMINE Underground Bolter Simulator operator is immersed in a highly realistic, operating, 3D simulated mine world, projected on three wide screen displays located about the bolter operator’s cab. The entire roof bolter cab is replicated to original equipment manufacturer specifications ensuring all drilling, bolting and tramming instruments and controls are correctly located about the bolter operator.
Virtual Mine Worlds
The 3D underground mine simulation world comes complete with typical tunnel geometry, bolting areas of varying complexities and other essential features typically encountered in an underground mining environment. Artificially intelligent drill rigs, ADTs, bolters and miners may be activated in the simulated mine world in support of the roof bolter operator training and evaluation process.
Actual client underground 3D mine sites are accurately modelled on request, including own operating procedures, artificially intelligent client mining equipment, load and haul routes and other areas required to impart training objectives
Training and Evaluation Tools
The CYBERMINE Roof Bolter Simulator training modules also include tramming, in which the bolter operator must employ due care and skill in order to avoid damage to vehicle components through collisions with the ceiling, walls and floor. Correct placement and deployment of the carrier module is required prior to operating in the marked areas.
The CYBERMINE Roof Bolter Simulator continually monitors and records bolter operator actions and performance in terms of bolting accuracies, adherence to safety procedures, correct equipment handling techniques and response to emergency situations and sub-system failures. The resultant performance reports together with the instructor’s after-action-review capability provide a complete roof bolter operator training and evaluation system.
Highly efficient and effective training is therefore realised on the CYBERMINE Roof Bolter Simulator with no loss of production and no danger of accidents, even in the most complex of emergency situations to which the bolter operator might be expected to respond.
